Meet The Team
AgileTek’s founders have extensive business experience and technical knowledge of risers, umbilicals and power cables and our engineers are Masters and PhD level in subjects such as Mechanical Engineering and Ship Science. All our engineers are trained in software development so that we can utilise state of the art technology to consistently deliver value to our customers.
Fraser Gibson
Managing Director
Fraser is Managing Director of AgileTek Engineering Ltd and Ryder Geotechnical Ltd. He has been working in the offshore sector for around 14 years and is a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers. He is also the North East Representative for the Offshore Engineering Society. Fraser became interested in soil mechanics following a degree in mechanical engineering and obtained an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering in 2006 from Newcastle University.
Hugh Martindale PhD
Director of Engineering
Hugh is the technical lead at AgileTek and supports staff development and analytical modelling. He is a Chartered Engineer with IMechE and has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University College London. His thesis focused on flexible pipe stress analysis at end-fittings and areas of interest include the behavior of layered structures containing helically wound elements.
Richard Langdon
Head of Subsea Engineering
Richard holds a Masters’s degree in Ship Science from the University of Southampton and leads the Subsea Engineering team at AgileTek. In addition to developing global models for complex subsea behavior, he participates in the development of custom automation and data storage software for enhanced quality control and efficiency on our dynamic analysis projects.
Truan Willis
Head of Finite Element Analysis
Truan is a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE and holds an MSc from the University of Manchester in Mechanical Engineering Design and leads the FEA team at AgileTek. Since joining the company, he has developed automation software to streamline pre and post processing workflows, delivering excellent value and technical insight to our customers.
Manuel Pimentel
Senior Analysis Engineer (Subsea)
Manuel is a Senior Engineer specialised in subsea cables, offshore cable installation operations and cable protection systems design and analysis. He is a Chartered Engineer and member of the IMarEST. At AgileTek, Manuel is responsible for delivering offshore cable consultancy projects whilst providing guidance and supervising the work of Analysis Engineers. He speaks English, Spanish and Galician, and is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin).
James Tate
Head of Projects
James holds a Masters degree in Ship Science from the University of Southampton and leads the project support team at AgileTek. His experience in both analysis and project engineering helps identify and deliver the most efficient analysis solutions to our customers’ requirements.
Soo Kim
Senior Analysis Engineer (FEA/CFD)
Soo holds a PhD in Computational Engineering from Swansea University for his thesis on computational fluid dynamics (CFD). He is responsible for application of computer-aided engineering methods for structural, CFD and thermal analysis. He also actively participates in development of analysis capabilities at AgileTek to provide engineering excellence to our customers.
